What is a MAM Account in Forex
What Exactly is a MAM Account?
A MAM account is a pooled investment structure where a single master account (managed by a professional trader or fund manager) is linked to multiple individual client accounts. When the manager opens a trade, it is automatically copied proportionally to all linked accounts based on each client's allocated capital. This allows efficient management of many accounts with one strategy.
How Does a MAM Account Work?
The manager places trades in the master account, and the MAM software automatically allocates the trade to each client account according to a predefined allocation method (usually percentage-based). For example, if a Georgia trader invests $5,000 USD in a MAM pool with a total of $100,000 USD, they receive 5% of all trades and profits. The manager earns a performance fee (often 20-30% of profits) and sometimes a management fee.
Why Georgia Traders Use MAM Accounts
Many Georgia retail forex traders prefer MAM accounts because they offer professional management without requiring active trading knowledge. With local payment methods like Bank Transfer, Skrill, and USDT, funding is straightforward. The USD-denominated accounts avoid GEL volatility, which is beneficial for traders looking to preserve capital in a stable currency.
Key Features of MAM Accounts
Features include proportional profit/loss sharing, full transparency (clients can see their account activity), and the ability to withdraw funds at any time (subject to terms). Unlike PAMM accounts, MAM accounts allow the manager to trade with different lot sizes per client, offering more flexibility.
