How to Verify a Forex Broker Regulation
Why Regulation Matters for Chad Traders
Regulation protects your funds and ensures fair trading. For Chad traders, using an unregulated broker means your money has zero protection if the broker disappears. Always verify the regulator before depositing via Bank Transfer, Skrill, or USDT.
Step 1 – Find the Broker’s License Number
Every regulated broker displays its license number on its website footer or ‘About Us’ page. Write it down exactly as shown.
Step 2 – Visit the Regulator’s Official Website
Go directly to the regulator’s website (e.g., cysec.gov.cy for CySEC, fca.org.uk for FCA, fsaseychelles.sc for FSA). Do not click links from emails or ads.
Step 3 – Use the Search Tool
Look for a ‘Register’ or ‘Check a Firm’ section. Enter the broker’s name or license number. The result must show the broker’s name, license status (e.g., ‘Authorised’), and permitted activities.
Step 4 – Cross-Check the Details
Compare the registered name with the broker’s trading name. If the names don’t match, it’s a red flag. Also check if the regulator covers the country where you are trading (Chad). Some regulators restrict services to certain countries.
Step 5 – Contact the Regulator if Unsure
If you cannot find the broker in the database, contact the regulator directly via their official email or phone. Do not rely on the broker’s customer support to verify their own license.
