How to Use TradingView for Forex
Getting Started with TradingView in Vietnam
First, visit TradingView.com or download the mobile app (available on iOS and Android). Sign up using your email, Google, or Apple ID. The free plan gives you access to basic charts, indicators, and one saved layout. For serious forex trading, consider upgrading to a paid plan (Pro, Pro+, or Premium) to unlock multiple charts, real-time data, and advanced indicators.
Understanding the TradingView Interface
The main screen shows a price chart (candlestick, bar, or line). On the left, you'll find drawing tools (trendlines, Fibonacci, etc.). On the top, you can search for any forex pair (e.g., USD/VND, EUR/USD, GBP/JPY). The bottom panel shows indicators like RSI, MACD, and Moving Averages. You can customize colors, timeframes, and alerts.
Adding Indicators and Strategies
Click 'Indicators' at the top. Type 'RSI' or 'Bollinger Bands' to add them. Vietnam traders often use RSI (14) for overbought/oversold signals and MACD for trend direction. You can also use the 'Strategy Tester' to backtest your ideas on historical data — useful for testing a USD/VND strategy before going live.
Setting Up Alerts
TradingView alerts are powerful. Right-click on the chart and select 'Add Alert'. Choose conditions like price crossing a level or indicator crossover. Alerts can be sent to your email, mobile push, or even Telegram. This helps Vietnam traders monitor markets without staring at the screen all day.
Connecting to a Broker
TradingView does not execute trades directly unless your broker supports integration. Many brokers like Exness, IC Markets, and XM allow TradingView login. You can place market orders, set stop losses, and manage positions from the chart. Ensure your broker is regulated by SSC or a top-tier regulator like FCA or ASIC.
