How to Use TradingView for Forex
Getting Started with TradingView
First, visit tradingview.com and create a free account. Use your email or sign up with Google. Once logged in, you will see the main chart interface. Type a forex pair like EUR/USD in the search bar at the top. The chart will load with default settings. You can change the time frame (1 minute, 1 hour, daily) using the buttons above the chart.
Customizing Your Chart
Click on the 'Indicators' button to add tools like Moving Averages, RSI, or MACD. For example, add a 50-period Moving Average to spot trends. You can also draw trendlines, support/resistance levels, and Fibonacci retracements using the toolbar on the left. These tools help you make informed trading decisions.
Setting Alerts
Right-click on the chart and select 'Add Alert'. Set a condition, for example, when EUR/USD crosses 1.1000. TradingView will notify you via email or push notification. This is useful for Sao Tome and Principe traders who cannot watch the charts all day due to time zone differences.
Linking Your Broker
To trade directly from TradingView, you need a broker that supports TradingView integration. Popular options include IC Markets and Pepperstone. After opening an account, go to TradingView's 'Trading Panel' and sign in with your broker credentials. You can then place orders, set stop-losses, and manage risk without leaving TradingView.
Using the Screener
TradingView's screener lets you filter forex pairs by volatility, volume, or technical signals. For example, find pairs with strong uptrends or oversold RSI. This saves time and helps you focus on the best opportunities.
