How to Use TradingView for Forex
What is TradingView and Why Use It for Forex?
TradingView is a web-based charting and social trading platform used by millions of traders globally. It offers advanced charting tools, hundreds of technical indicators, real-time forex data, and a community of traders sharing ideas. For Danish forex traders, TradingView provides a powerful alternative to MetaTrader 4 and 5, with a modern interface and easy integration with many brokers.
Step 1: Create a TradingView Account
Go to tradingview.com and sign up for a free account. You can use your email or Google/Facebook login. Danish traders can choose between a free plan (with basic features) or paid plans (Pro, Pro+, Premium) for more indicators, multiple charts, and faster data. Paid plans cost around $12.95–$49.95 per month, but the free plan is sufficient for most beginners.
Step 2: Choose a Broker That Integrates with TradingView
TradingView does not execute trades directly unless you connect it to a broker. Popular brokers for Danish traders include OANDA, Forex.com, IC Markets, and Pepperstone. These brokers are regulated by Finanstilsynet (or other EU authorities) and support TradingView integration. Check that the broker accepts Danish payment methods: Bank Transfer (via MobilePay), Skrill, or USDT.
Step 3: Link Your Broker Account to TradingView
Once you have a broker account, log in to TradingView, click on the 'Trade' panel, and select 'Connect Broker'. Choose your broker from the list, enter your broker account credentials, and authorize the connection. You can then place trades directly from TradingView charts.
Step 4: Set Up Your Charts and Indicators
Use TradingView's charting tools to analyze forex pairs. For example, add EUR/USD chart, apply moving averages (e.g., 50 and 200 EMA), RSI, and MACD. Danish traders can also use custom Pine Script indicators. Save your chart layouts for quick access.
Step 5: Execute Trades from TradingView
With the broker connected, you can place market orders, limit orders, or stop orders directly from the chart. Set your position size in USD (your chosen account currency). Always use stop-loss and take-profit levels. Danish traders should be aware of leverage limits under ESMA rules (max 30:1 for major pairs).
