How to Use MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
What is MetaTrader 5 (MT5)?
MetaTrader 5 is the successor to MT4, offering advanced charting tools, more timeframes, and a built-in economic calendar. For Morocco traders, MT5 is ideal for forex, CFDs, commodities, and indices. The platform supports automated trading via Expert Advisors (EAs) and allows custom indicators. You can use MT5 on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.
Step 1: Choose a Regulated Broker
Always select a broker regulated by the local financial authority in Morocco. This ensures your funds are safe and the broker follows strict rules. Check the broker’s website for its license number and verify it on the regulator’s official site. Avoid unlicensed brokers that promise high returns.
Step 2: Open a Trading Account
After choosing a broker, click ‘Open Account’ and fill in your personal details: full name, email, phone number, and address in Morocco. Set the account currency to USD (most brokers default to this). Select an account type (standard, mini, or Islamic). Complete the registration and verify your email.
Step 3: Complete KYC Verification
Upload a clear copy of your Moroccan national ID (CIN) or passport, and a recent utility bill (electricity or water) as proof of address. The broker will verify these documents within 1-2 business days. This step is mandatory for all regulated brokers in Morocco.
Step 4: Deposit Funds
Log in to your broker’s client area and go to the deposit section. Choose your preferred method: Bank Transfer (takes 1-3 days, low fees), Skrill (instant, small fee), or USDT (crypto transfer, low cost). Enter the amount in USD and confirm. Funds will appear in your MT5 account balance.
Step 5: Download and Install MT5
Go to the MetaQuotes website or your broker’s download page. Download MT5 for Windows or Mac, or install the mobile app from Google Play or Apple App Store. Use your broker’s server name and login credentials to connect. You can now start trading.
Step 6: Place Your First Trade
Select a currency pair like EUR/USD. Open the chart, choose your lot size (start with 0.01 lot for beginners), set stop-loss and take-profit levels, and click ‘Buy’ or ‘Sell’. Monitor your trade using the terminal at the bottom of the platform.
