How to Use MetaTrader 4 (MT4)
What is MetaTrader 4 (MT4)?
MetaTrader 4 is a trading platform developed by MetaQuotes Software. It provides real-time price charts, technical analysis tools, and automated trading through Expert Advisors (EAs). For Armenian traders, MT4 is available on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, making it easy to trade from home or on the go.
How to Download and Install MT4 in Armenia
First, choose a broker that accepts Armenian clients and supports deposits via Bank Transfer, Skrill, or USDT. After registration, download MT4 from the broker’s website (not the Apple App Store or Google Play, unless instructed). Install the software on your computer or mobile device. For Android, you can also download the MT4 app from Google Play, but ensure it is linked to your broker account.
Setting Up Your MT4 Account
After installation, launch MT4 and click 'File' > 'Login to Trade Account'. Enter your broker-provided login ID, password, and server name. For Armenian traders, set your account currency to USD to avoid conversion fees. Once logged in, you will see the Market Watch window with currency pairs like EUR/USD, USD/AMD (if available), and others.
Placing Your First Trade
To place a trade, right-click on a currency pair in Market Watch and select 'New Order'. A window will appear where you can set volume (lot size), stop loss, and take profit. For beginner Armenian traders, start with a micro lot (0.01) to minimize risk. Click 'Sell' or 'Buy' to execute. Always use a stop loss to protect your capital.
Using Charts and Indicators
MT4 offers multiple chart types: line, bar, and candlestick. Drag indicators like Moving Average, RSI, or MACD from the Navigator panel onto the chart. Armenian traders can customize timeframes from 1 minute to monthly. Use the 'Crosshair' tool to measure price distances.
