Zerodha Review for France Traders 2026

Zerodha is a major Indian discount broker, but it is not built for French retail forex traders. It offers no licensed forex services in France and does not hold an AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers) registration. French traders should choose a broker authorised under ESMA regulations instead.

Zerodha Overview for France

Zerodha is the largest retail stockbroker in India, founded in 2010 and headquartered in Bangalore. It revolutionised Indian brokerage with a flat-fee model and a proprietary trading platform called Kite. For France traders, however, Zerodha's relevance is limited: the firm focuses almost entirely on Indian equities, derivatives and mutual funds, and does not offer global forex trading under an EU licence. French retail forex traders are used to brokers offering EUR pairs, tight spreads, and ESMA-compliant leverage of 30:1. Zerodha, by contrast, is not a forex broker in the traditional sense. It does not accept French clients as part of its core offering, and its platform does not support CFD or spot forex trading. This means that despite its popularity in India, it is unlikely to meet the needs of retail forex traders in France. If you are a French investor wanting exposure to Indian stocks, Zerodha might be useful through local routes, but for trading EUR/USD or gold from France, you should look at regulated European brokers.

Islamic Account — France Muslim Traders

Zerodha does not promote a dedicated Islamic/swap-free account. The broker's activities are focused on Indian stock broking, and there is no indication that it offers halal trading options with no interest charges overnight. For Muslim traders in France, this is an important gap. Many regulated forex brokers under the AMF or CySEC offer genuine swap-free accounts, where rollover fees are not applied to overnight positions. If Zerodha were to offer an Islamic account, it would need to make the swap structure transparent, including any administrative fee that replaces interest. Based on available information, French Muslim traders should not assume that Zerodha offers a compliant Islamic account. You would need to contact Zerodha support directly to ask about their policy on waivers and halal compliance. In our view, there are better swap-free options for France traders among EU-regulated forex brokers.

Final Verdict — Is Zerodha Worth It for France Traders?

4.5/5
★★★★★

Zerodha is a revolutionary broker for the Indian market, but for France traders focused on retail forex, it is clearly the wrong choice. It does not possess an AMF licence, offers no MT4/MT5 support, and does not provide global forex instruments that French retail traders seek. While the deposit methods listed (Bank Transfer, Skrill and USDT) seem convenient, the actual onboarding for an international French client is complicated and likely to require Indian market access. There is also no French language support, and the platform was never designed to service European customers. If you are living in France, your better path is a broker regulated by the AMF or at least by another EU regulator under ESMA rules, offering tight spreads, swap-free options, global indices and ECN accounts. Unless your specific goal is to trade Indian stocks, we cannot recommend Zerodha for French forex traders.
